ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Negoska
Negoska is a dark-skinned variety grown predominantly in the northern regions of Greece. Originally from Naousa, Negoska has spread to the surrounding appellations of Macedonia and Goumenissa, where red wines must now contain at least 20 per cent of the variety.
The main purpose of Negoska is to complement the highly revered Xinomavro variety. Negoska’s rich, dark-fruit laden palate and earthy characters, comparatively low acid and soft tannins more than compensate for Xynomavro’s incredibly high acidity (Xynomavro literally means acid black) and slight colour deficiencies.
